Little League at the Little League Softball World Series in 2005 and 2006. |

My name is Deanna DeVito; I played first base in the 2006 Little
League World Series for the East team, along with my identical
twin sister Samantha, who played right field. This year,
my sister and I played on the varsity high school
softball team in Pequannock New Jersey, which also included some
of the girls from the 2006 East team. Our team won four titles:
2009 Conference Champs, 2009 County Champs, 2009 North Group II
Section Champs, and 2009 State Champs. I am going to be a
junior for the upcoming 2009-2010 school year. I still keep in
touch with my host family and we fly out to visit each whenever
we can. Being a part of Little League and being in the World
Series has given me an experience that most kids dream being a
part of. This memory will last a lifetime! Thank you so much!

Hello my name is Bekka Crow. I was a member of the 2006 little
league world series champion team from Mattawan, Michigan. My
Junior year of high school was eventful for our varsity team. With
8 of the girls from the 2006 team on this varsity team, we knew that
we were going to have a great year. We were District Champs this
year and made it to the finals for regionals and unfortunately
lost. Going into my senior year, we are hoping to be State champs.
Everyone still stays in contact and 3 of the world series girls from
2006 already have full rides for softball going into our Senior year
of high school. (: The little league world series was amazing and a
once in a lifetime experience for us all. We made so many friends
from the other teams and we still stay in contact with our host
families. Alpenrose will forever be a great memory for us all and
something we will never forget! |

Frank
Smith here, coach of Team Canada 2006. I just wanted to report to
you on the success of my daughters Janelle and Mckenzie – who both
had the great pleasure of playing on Team Canada in the Little
League Softball World Series.
Janelle played in 2003. Today she is a Junior at Frank Phillips
College in Borger, Texas. She is on an athletic scholarship. Last
season she enjoyed more success than any other player from her
college program, being named to the all-star team for both her
conference and region!
Her younger sister Mckenzie hit a grand slam in your tournament in
2006. In 2010, she won Canada’s Bantam Girls “Top Batter” award at
Nationals. This past summer she was one of 24 players invited to
Softball Canada’s Junior Team Selection Camp. Today she is on her
“official visit” to Stanford University. Mckenzie will be the first
Canadian to play softball at Stanford, where she will go in 2012.
The World Series was a wonderful experience for both my daughters,
and myself. Thank you to everyone who is involved in hosting this
great tournament.
